When you come to us for the first time, the physiotherapist will first talk to you - as part of the interview, he or she will take your medical history. He or she will ask what brought you in, what you are being treated for, what your occupation is, etc.
A thorough medical history is half the battle. The physiotherapist will then carry out a kinesiological analysis, which takes place in your underwear, so that the physiotherapist can best see your postural and muscular imbalances. The examination includes an aspect (observation), palpation (examination of the muscles, ligaments and joints by palpation) and a functional examination (joint ranges and execution of movement). Based on this analysis, they will devise an individual plan focusing on the areas of greatest risk to improve your overall condition. Usually one basic exercise is mastered in the first therapy session, with subsequent sessions continuing, checking and adding.
